How to Create a Gig on Fiverr
Step 1: Overview
Start by giving your gig a title. On Fiverr, gig titles usually begin with "I will," such as: “I will design a logo for your company.” Make sure your title forms a complete sentence that clearly describes your service.
Next, select the appropriate category and subcategory for your gig. Then, choose the service type that best represents the specific work you’ll be offering.
In the gig metadata section, select the most relevant options related to your service.
You’ll also need to add up to 6 relevant tags to help buyers find your gig. To choose suitable tags, you can browse similar gigs for inspiration—but never copy anyone else’s content, as doing so may get your account suspended.
Once done, click Save and Continue to move on to the next step.
Step 2: Pricing
In this section, you’ll set up the pricing for your gig by creating packages. Fiverr allows you to create one, two, or ideally, three packages—Basic, Standard, and Premium.
For each package, provide a name, detail what services are included, specify how long each package will take to deliver, and select any relevant features from Fiverr’s list.
Then, set a price for each package.
You can also offer extra services (e.g., faster delivery, additional revisions) using the “Gig Extras” section. After setting all this up, click Save and Continue.
Step 3: Description
Here, describe your gig in detail. Explain what your service includes, how it benefits the buyer, and what kind of post-delivery support (if any) you offer.
If you need inspiration, check out how similar service providers structure their gig descriptions.
Also, include FAQs—answers to commonly asked client questions. Fiverr allows you to add up to 10 questions and answers in this section.
Step 4: Requirements
Specify what information or materials you need from the buyer to start the order. For example, if you're offering a web design service, you might need domain and hosting access, images, or content.
By listing these requirements up front, buyers won’t be able to place an order without providing the necessary information, which helps you avoid delays.
Step 5: Gallery
In the Gig Gallery, upload one video and up to three high-quality images that represent your service.
Make sure your visuals are clear and informative, possibly including text and icons to highlight key aspects of your offering. The quality of your gig images is crucial—they play a major role in attracting clients.
Fiverr also provides guidelines on how to create effective gig images, which you can follow to improve your visuals.
Additionally, you can upload two PDF files to showcase past work or provide more details about your services—essentially serving as a portfolio.
Once all steps are completed correctly, your gig will be published, and Fiverr will provide a direct link to share it.
You can always update your gig later through your profile section, including editing content and tracking engagement metrics like clicks and client reviews.
At the final stage of account setup, Fiverr may prompt you to complete a tax form. Don’t worry—if you’re not a U.S. resident, just select the "I am not a U.S. person" option and save it. You won’t need to provide any tax details.
